Leave a musical legacy through your Will and help us transform lives through the power of music.

Music is a precious gift that so many of us share. We often find joy through making music with family and friends, colleagues, other people like us or those from different backgrounds.

At Orchestras for All, we bring that gift to young musicians who currently face significant barriers to music-making and would not otherwise have the opportunity to play in an orchestra.

Being part of an ensemble brings huge benefits: a boost to their self-confidence, independence, improved team working and communication skills as well as progressing their musical abilities.

Inspiring stories from teachers and participants

Edwin’s story

Meet Edwin, saxophonist in National Orchestra for All. When he arrived at the Summer Course in 2019, Edwin said, “I was terrified - I had meltdowns and just wanted to go home”.

But through emotional and musical support from the NOFA staff and volunteer team as well as the warm encouragement and friendship of fellow NOFA members, he gradually relaxed enough to join in.

“By the end, I made friends and was happy and elated to be a part of the final performance”. Roll on 12 months to our online course and Edwin was the brilliant host of a Q&A session with four professional guests.

Ellie’s story

"At the start of this year, ensemble music-making was virtually non-existent at our school. Through the Modulo Programme, we have been able to establish a small ensemble where students could take part, regardless of their skill level and prior experience.

“In my first year of teaching, the Modulo Programme was invaluable in allowing me to grow in confidence when leading an ensemble – and having the backing of Orchestras for All made me feel incredibly supported.

“We have had pupils learn instruments from complete beginner, and they can now play pieces from start to finish as part of an ensemble - as a new teacher, that has been one of the most rewarding parts of my entire year.”

Dan’s story

“At the Modulo Meet, one of our trumpet players was struggling with confidence. She received encouragement from many people around her and this gave her the courage to carry on. Modulo has been a wonderful stepping stone to help my students believe in their own music-making.”

All gifts are welcome, whatever their size, and all donations will go directly towards our work with young musicians throughout the UK. We are also very grateful to receive royalties or gifts of instruments that could be sold to fund our work.
