VIDEOS

Rehearsal activity: Rhythmic body percussion warm up

This video is to be shown to your Modulo group during rehearsals. It has been specially designed for everyone to join in!

It is meant to provide a rhythmic introduction to ‘Hornet’ and a physical warm up at the start of a rehearsal. Its secondary aim is to introduce your players to one of the conductors they will work with at the Modulo Meets.

Please do watch the videos and, most importantly, join in!

Emma Oliver-Trend, Conductor and Artistic Director at Orchestras for All

Rehearsal activity: Articulation and dynamics warm up

This video aims to provide an ‘instrumental’ warm up activity that can be shown to students in a rehearsal. It uses the rhythm and articulation of ‘Hornet’ but is really meant as an instrumental warm up for the start of a rehearsal.

Rocco Brunori, Associate Conductor at Orchestras for All

Conducting preparation: ‘Hornet’ score guidance

This score guidance video is a brief talkthrough of ‘Hornet’ by Emma, one of our Modulo conductors. It aims to identify some key musical features of the piece; general information relating to tempo, structure and also draws out some of the key passages or moments of interest or ‘tricky bits’ in the score as well as how they might be tackled in rehearsal and at Modulo Meets.

It also discusses articulation, style of playing and aims to help us all share some ideas about how we are going to play when we join together.
