Rhythm of Life: National Orchestra for All 2017-2018 season finale

  • Octagon Centre Clarkson Street Sheffield, England, S10 2TQ United Kingdom (map)

Join us for Rhythm of Life, the National Orchestra for All 2017-2018 season finale concert in partnership with One Dance UK, at 4pm on Thursday 5 April 2018 at the Octagon Centre in Sheffield.

The performance is the culmination of the our 2017-2018 season of work, exploring the crossovers and connections between music and dance, and will see our 100-strong national youth ensemble joined on stage by 30 young dancers from companies across England and Scotland - DanceXchange, Cando2, right2dance and Barrowland Ballet.

The performance will feature the world première of Dance, Then... by composer Danyal Dhondy, inspired by work created by our young dancers and musicians at the recent Winter Sessions creative workshops in November and December 2017. The young dancers will perform brand new choreography devised at the Winter Sessions alongside the National Orchestra for All's specially created arrangements of a suite of Aaron Copland ballet music - including a massed performance to Copland's Fanfare for the Common Man.

Doors open at 3:30pm at the Octagon Centre, and you are welcome to join us for a pre-concert reception from 3:30pm. Tickets are free and can be reserved below via Eventbrite. Any questions about the performance, don't hesitate to get in touch with the Orchestras for All team at info@orchestrasforall.org or on 0207 267 4141.
