Join us for an inspiring performance from the Musical Chairs Orchestra performing to raise money for Orchestras for All.
About this Event
On Saturday 16 November 2019, Orchestras for All is delighted to present the Musical Chairs Orchestra, performing a concert of uplifting orchestral music, from Verdi to Ghanaian folk song.
The twist? This 50-strong orchestra have only been playing their instruments for a few weeks. They challenged themselves to learn and perform their instrument in support of Orchestras for All.
Supported by young members of our innovative National Orchestra for All and a team of professional musician tutors, they will have spent the day rehearsing as an orchestra ready for their Musical Chairs performance.
Performed in the beautiful venue of Westminster School, you are invited to witness an orchestral performance as you've never seen it before, performed by those who never thought they could, all under the baton of world-renowned conductor Sian Edwards.
Tickets are free, but if you can, please make a donation towards our work. There will also be a retiring collection after the concert.
All money raised will help Orchestras for All unlock the life-changing experience of ensemble music-making for young people with complex lives. We are aiming to raise £20,000 from this event and we cannot thank you enough for your kind and generous support.
"It is vital in this day and age that people across the country continue to support programmes such as NOFA in order to continue the existence of personal development through music. Perhaps results are expected to prove validity of such programmes in which case, look no further than myself and other NOFA alumni."
— Nazar, Musical Chairs participant and NOFA alumnus
"In the past few times I have played with Orchestras for All, I have thoroughly enjoyed every second, we play such a variety of pieces and they have really opened up a wider range of musical skills for me."
— Emily, Musical Chairs participant and NOFA alumnus
