Join us for the finale of the National Orchestra for All’s 2018-19 season ‘WordPlay’, exploring how music can be inspired or influenced by both written word and the spoken word.
Repertoire will include the world premiere of a newly commissioned piece by Danyal Dhondy - 'An Orchestra of Overheard Conversations'. This piece was developed by NOFA members with workshop leader Fraser Trainer at our Winter Sessions. The piece draws upon and develops motifs from the accents of NOFA members and conversations captured at the Summer Course. Spoken word artist, Kit Finnie, has collaborated with Danyal Dhondy on this work. She will perform spoken word with NOFA, live at the concert's premiere.
NOFA will also perform arrangements of a selection of opera choruses and a traditional Ghanaian song A Keelie Makolay, arranged for orchestra and choir.
